State-of-the-art greenhouse required automation of all controls and equipment. AIG led the project development team.
The Land Institute is a non-profit organization focused on sustainable agriculture in the Great Plains. To support their research into perennial grain and seed crops, they envisioned a state-of-the-art, automated greenhouse. AIG assembled a design team that included the architect, greenhouse manager and general contractor. The extensive schematic design process examined several iterations. Working closely with the greenhouse manager throughout, AIG provided design and construction administration for the 10,000-sq ft glass and steel structure. Other services included site work; permitting, code compliance, survey, hydrology, utility surveys; mechanical system design; and testing and commissioning of systems.
